Isaac and his two best friends here in our new town had a wonderful time at his simple, informal birthday party. You would never assume that this crew of four met only two months ago. They live as if they've known one another for a lifetime. They love and argue and resolve and get into all kinds of mischief. These four loves bring a new level of noise to our lives. Glorious, awesome, loudness! We love each of them dearly and thank our Lord for giving our families a mutual affinity. I'll write more on how our families met in another post, but for now, here are a few snapshots from his party. We feasted on pizza, salad, and our favorite classic cake: Hershey's chocolate cake. You'll find the recipe on the back of the cocoa can. I've made it numerous times. It has not failed me once and is great in cupcake form as well. Mama might need to gobble down one last piece this afternoon!
